Researcher, composer, poet, writer, theatre director, and filmmaker, Dr. Ankush Gupta is a founding member of Studio155 Arts Collaborative, and has worked on more than fifty performances/films/art projects as composer, writer, director, and dramaturge that have been presented at various venues and international festivals all around the globe, including- Bharat Rang Mahotsav (New Delhi), Bangkok International Performance Art Meet (Bangkok), Tanz im August (Berlin), Kolkata International Performance Art Festival (Kolkata), International Federation for Theatre Research (Belgrade), Entzaubert Film Festival (Berlin), and Osaka in the World (Japan).
They have been a fellow at the Interweaving Performance Cultures, Freie University, Berlin and were selected as one of the five important upcoming artists by the MSO (Migrationsrat, Berlin) Inklusive Project in 2018. They have also ventured in films and composed music for the multiple awards winning film ‘My Sacred Glass Bowl’ (PSBT) and also composed music, co-wrote and co-directed ‘Saving Mr. Green’ for School Cinema (official selection- Seattle Films Festival, 2020, and Lahore Film Festival, 2019). They have also been the convenor for the Queer Futures Working Group at the International Federation for Theatre Research.
