He is the pioneer of Theatre of the Oppressed in the country, Doctor of Philosophy in Theatre Studies, Author, and Artistic Director of Jana Sanskriti Centre for Theatre of the Oppressed. Based in West Bengal,Jana Sanskriti Centre is probably the largest and longest running Forum Theatre operation in the world. It was considered by Augusto Boal to be the chief exponent of his methodology outside of its native Brazil.

Khel Tamasha is a beautiful journey, where artists from a diversity of social and cultural backgrounds, have come together to express their ideas, thoughts, emotions, intuitions, and desires. Our work is a celebration of our composite and secular culture.
